SAMUEL & NANCY "AGNES" & FAMILY This page has info on Samuel Hunter and Agnes Blair and their children and any grandchildren I may have info on....3 of the children I don't have much info on because I can not find much on them.....The 3 younger children stayed in PA when their father moved to WI, but I will give you what I have....If you have anything to add or any corrections please send me an email, if you have any questions please feel to email me also...... cindylw48@yahoo.com
THEIR FAMILY CHART Above is the family chart of Samuel & Agnes and their children...It has names of the children with names of their spouse too and dates of birth and death and burials and marriages...It also will show where each of these events took place when possible...if you have any questions or corrections or if you can give me additional information please email me, my address is posted in a few spots on both web sites.... RIGHT click on the family chart to save or print			Samuel & Agnes Hunter Samuel & Agnes were married in Crawford Co. on May 25, 1820...Agnes was the daughter of Samuel and Ann Blair also of Crawford Co. PA...Agnes had 5 brothers and sisters and was the 3rd child born... I have her listed as Nancy Agnes Blair but she was known to most everyone as "Agnes" so that is how I will refer to her...Her parents were Samuel & Ann Blair and they are my Great Great Great Great Grandparents....Samuel was born in Ireland and was almost hung, he was the leader of a group called "Hearts O'Steel Rebellion" in 1770 but just before he was to be hung he was saved by his twin sister Mary... You can read more on this story on Morgans web site about the Blair ancestors...Agnes' mother Ann Young/Blair was married before she married Samuel but no one seems to know her maiden name, she did have one child from this marriage and this daughter married Thomas Gilmore....Samuel was born in 1738 in Ireland and died in Woodcock, Crawford Co. PA... He arrived in Philadelphia about 1770 and about 1797 he moved with his wife and grown children to Woodcock PA and he and his wife Ann are buried on their farm at the top of a hill in what is now known as Mt Blair Cemetery...This cemetery is where at least 3 of Samuel and Agnes' children are buried along with Agnes...I am not sure about the child Samuel B. who died so young I can find no records right now on where he is buried...Three of the other four are buried there, William Harrison (Stayed in PA), Eloise Jane (stayed in PA), Margaret Ann (stayed in PA)...
THEIR CHILDREN *WILLIAM HARRISON HUNTER is their 3rd child he was born in 1827 and died in 1899.....He married MARY ALFORD around 1850....They had one son his name is ALFRED FRANKLIN HUNTER born after 1850...When Samuel and his 2nd Wife and their children went to WI William Harrison chose to stay in PA where he ran a hotel called "Hunter House" in Blooming Valley, PA.... See the photo on the right to see the Hotel..... ELOISE JANE HUNTER/BLYSTONE their 4th child, was born in 1830 and died in 1867.....she also chose to stay in PA when her father moved to WI in (about) 1853....She married FREDERICK BLYSTONE before 1852 they had 2 children together one in Dec. of 1852 the other in Aug. of 1854....They were divorced and the children stayed with Eloise and Frederick moved away with his 2nd wife to another state even when Eloise died he never came to get the boys.....the three of them Eloise and her boys lived with William Harrison and his wife after her divorce..... MARGARET ANN HUNTER their 5th and youngest child was born in 1833 and died in 1905.... She also chose to stay in PA...She lived with William Harrison and his wife.....I do not know if she was ever married or not....She was buried next to her mother in the Mt Blair Cemetery in Woodcock, PA..... The 2nd child died very young, about 10 months old, his name was SAMUEL B. HUNTER..... Their 1st Child was my Great Great Grandpa JOHN BLAIR HUNTER (more info on a seperate page for John and his 2 wife & their children & their families).... http://users.cis.net/daver/bl_sam.htm JOHN BLAIR HUNTER** John Blair Hunter (my great great grandpa) was the oldest child of Samuel & Agnes...He was born in 1821 and died in 1900... John was married twice the first time he married Rebecca Jane Malott in 1845 in Crawford Co. PA...They along with all their children went along with Samuel and his 2nd wife to Diamond Bluff WI in 1853...that is where their youngest child was born....all the other children were born in PA.....together they had 6 children....Rebecca died shortly after the birth of their youngest child....John Blair was remarried after Rebecca died...Johns second wife was Nancy Ann Goggins/Murphy and together they had 7 children and their youngest son was my great grandpa...(you will see all of this on their family charts on the next few pages)...			This is a photo of the Hunter House hotel.... William Harrison Hunter & his wife Mary Alford (they had one son) ran this hotel after the 1850's ....his 2 sisters Eloise Hunter/Blystone (and her 2 sons) & Margaret Hunter lived with him..... This was in Blooming Valley, PA I got this photo from Debra who is the Historian there we were able to share info also....Thanks Debra for the great picture..... 			MT BLAIR CEMETERY (above) This is a picture of the cemetery where Agnes and at least 3 of her children are buried it is a strong possibility Samuel B. is also buried there.... but I haven't found any info on that yet... this is a view from the top of the hill looking down...the top of the hill is where Samuel & Ann Blair are buried....This Picture was taken for me by Debra from Blooming Valley, PA....she is looking for info on people who used to live there because she is the historian for that town.....she lives across the street from where the Hunter House Hotel used to be.....for more Mt Blair Cemetery Photos see the Grave stone and Cemetery Page......she did a great job didn't she???.....
